Tutorial on How to Install Zoom App on a Macbook


Below are instructions on how to install Zoom on a Macbook. In trying to install Zoom on a Macbook, we need to change the Security and Privacy configuration in the settings section.

1. Click the Apple icon at the top left of the Macbook screen. Select System Preferences.

2. Click Security & Privacy.

3. Click the lock icon at the bottom left so that we can have access to make configuration changes.

4. Enter the username and password from the Administrator account on the Macbook that we use.

5. Change the Allow apps downloaded from to be App Store and identified developers. This is necessary so that we can download applications not only from the App Store but also from other sources, such as Torrent or via USB.

6. Note: For Mac OS High Sierra (10.13.x) you have to click on the Allow button.

7. Click again the key sign that we opened earlier so that it is locked again.

How to Install Zoom on a MacBook


After successfully configuring the Mac, next is to start installing.

1. Visit the Download Center.

2. Under Zoom Client for Meetings, click Download.

3. Double-click (2) times on the Zoom application that we have downloaded. Usually the application that we download is in the Downloads folder.

4. Once the installer screen opens, click Continue.

5. Select the location where we will save the installation file.
  • Install for all users of this computer: all users on the Macbook can use the Zoom application.
  • Install for me only: only our users can use the Zoom application.
6. Click Continue.

7. If you want to change the installation location, select Change Install Location (optional).

8. Click Install.

9. If you want to change Install for all users of this computer, enter the username and password of the Macbook used.

10. Click Install Software.

11. Once the installation is complete, click Close.
